The cat has declared that today is the first day of winter.  A windy and cold morning has her nestled tight into the sofa despite the noise being generated by the renovation.

The new plumbing crew arrived early.  With four people looking at one drain, my confidence level is low.  They are confirming my belief that the two guys we had for six weeks were top notch.

Today's laborer du jour is a guy named Nick and yes, he's wearing a black leather jacket.

Trim carpenter was here to set a consecutive-day record.  He proceeded to attack the trim list that I made for him.  First stop was the new built-in desk in the apartment bedroom (where a closet once resided).  He enjoys tricking-out finish work and did a good job on the desk and shelves.  Hoping that he can finish all of the trim work tomorrow.

Laborer was somewhat out of his league and worked to take down the storm windows in preparation for painting.

Plumbers divided and conquered several new baseboard installations on the first floor and the new rough-in for the mud room sink.

Neo-Con tile guy grouted the apartment bathroom tile and installed the first floor bath tile.  After several rounds of how the pattern would be laid out, he muffed the execution.  Hoping he can pop a few of the pieces tomorrow and include some additional detail.

Paint crew started covering floors and caulking the woodwork.

Roofing guys installed a couple more attic vents though they couldn't complete the job as the torch that they left on the roof at the beginning of the week mysteriously disappeared.

With just a little finish work to go, we are now actually taking paper off of the floors and stairs and the house is starting to look like a house again.  Tomorrow we get our soapstone countertops in the kitchen.
