Walking around last night, I started to think of the top ten things that I'm completely tired of now that we are at the end of week nine.

Number 10:  Dust.  It's in every room.  It's on and under everything.  Vacuuming nightly doesn't help.  I'm afraid to look behind the sofa.
Number 09:  Paper on the floors.  The house is covered with heavy duty, plaster-stained paper to protect the hardwoods.  And it's not helping.
Number 08:  Plastic and blanket-covered doorways that really don't do anything other than create an uncomfortable obstacle.
Number 07:  Our kitchen-in-the-dining room.  A plastic container is no substitute for a real pantry.
Number 06:  Lighting in the back portion of the house.  After sunset, it's dangerous to venture back there.  We need better flashlights.
Number 05:  Hovering over or after the subs looking for and pointing out mistakes.
Number 04:  Worrying about every detail, every single day to the Nth degree.
Number 03:  Not sleeping while worrying about every detail.  Especially anything that has to do with water or electricity.
Number 02:  Making critical decisions that are permanent with no idea in most cases of what I'm doing.  Every single day.
Number 01:  Dust.  It's everywhere.

But as someone pointed out to me, it's only a renovation.  There are many things in life that are much more important.  Keep things in perspective.

The end of week nine brings changes in leaps and bounds.  Hardwood flooring, kitchen cabinet installation, main entry refinish and more baseboard heaters.  We will hopefully have the laundry room moved to the second floor some time next week.

The kitchen cabinets are incredible.
